Which Way Is Up
Original, Acrylic on Birch: 20 inch round
It was March. I was in New Mexico, newly returned to my mountain home after a soul-searching solo road trip to Los Angeles. Come May, I would move there or New York. I felt completely swallowed by the magnitude of this decision. This one is about transition, uncertainty, fear; it’s about the importance of presence, grounding, and gratitude. I painted it as I strapped my seatbelt for the rollercoaster ride of late spring. I made it! I live in LA. I am here to paint and play and see what happens.
